Yo Gotti Credits Jay-Z for Motivating Him to Go Back to College and Create a $100M Empire

Yo Gotti, a rapper who has never graduated from college, has been inspired to pursue further education by wealthy rapper Jay-Z’s conduct over the years.

In an interview with Forbes, the 41-year-old artist said that he has been studying corporate valuation at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management since December 2023, as part of his strategy to expand his $100 million empire.

He stated, “I could want to buy or acquire another company. So, rather than listening to financial experts, I’m making sure I’m supertight and understand the jargon and verbiage myself.

He added, “If I never write another rap again, I’ll be financially stable. “I spent my entire career preparing for that.”

However, this isn’t the first time the rapper has shown admiration for Jay-Z.Last year, Revolt reported that the rapper told “Big Boy’s Neighborhood” that he listens to JAY-Z’s albums like novels.

“I study Jay. “When JAY released albums, they liked books for me,” the Memphis rapper explained. “So, for a new hustler, a genuine hustler who knows what he’s talking about when he says certain things, that’s my information. That is my research catalogue. “If you’re the right hustler, you’ll pick up on something,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Jay-Z lauded his mentee’s financial ability in a recent Forbes interview, saying it’s “evident in every move [Gotti] makes, breaking the mold of the old-guard definition of an executive.”

According to Forbes, Yo Gotti has quietly built a large wealth. He owns a minority stake in the MLS team D.C. United, the Memphis restaurant Prive, and the Collective Music Group, which represents musicians like Moneybagg Yo, GloRilla, and Blac Youngsta.

Yo Gotti reportedly attributed his success to shrewd financial judgment, noting that he refuses to fly private because he believes there are better uses for his hard-earned money.
