Ryan E. Bowen, a former Major League Baseball player, has become a notable figure in the business world after transitioning into entrepreneurship. When he retired from professional baseball, he co-founded Swift Mobility, a firm that specializes in bespoke wheelchairs and online medical equipment sales.
According to a statement, he also worked at Bank One, J.P. Morgan Chase, and Comerica Bank, where he actively managed a portfolio of businesses worth more than $30,000,000.
Bowen has continued to push forward, and he now owns a stake in Dream Exchange, the first minority-owned stock exchange. As a Dream Exchange Ambassador, he joins the mission.
“I am honored to join Dream Exchange as an Ambassador and to be part of a groundbreaking initiative that prioritizes diversity and fairness in the financial world. The potential for the Dream Exchange to create economic opportunities for minority-owned businesses and entrepreneurs is immense. This is a transformative moment, and I am excited to be a part of it,” said Bowen.
Joe Cecala, Dream Exchange’s founder and CEO, stated in a statement that ambassadors not only play a crucial role in advancing their purpose, but also represent an embodiment of the company’s ideals.
“Our Dream Exchange Ambassadors play a pivotal role in advancing our mission of fostering fairness and equity in the public capital markets. They represent the embodiment of our values and are crucial in spreading the word about our vision. Ryan Bowen’s dedication to making a difference and his entrepreneurial success perfectly align with our goals,” Cecala said.
Bowen, in addition to managing businesses, is a motivational speaker who tells his tale of overcoming adversity with corporate leaders and the nation’s youth.
The Houston Astros selected Bowen in the first round in 1986.
