Russian strikes killed eight civilians in Ukraine, regional authorities said Friday, more than two years and a half after Russia invaded its neighbour.
Two people were killed in attacks in the northeastern Sumy district, according to the national police.
An attack killed two civilians in the Kharkiv region, which borders Russia, according to regional governor Oleg Synegubov.
According to Synegubov, rescuers also recovered a body from the ruins of another bombing earlier this week.
Donetsk Governor Vadym Filashkin confirmed another death in an attack on the region.
Moscow has continued its advance in the Donetsk region while attempting to repel a Ukrainian counterattack into its own Kursk border territory.
Ukraine is evacuating inhabitants from the city of Pokrovsk and its neighboring districts, which are around 10 kilometers (six miles) from the battle and home to approximately 50,000 people, according to officials.
According to governor Oleksandr Prokudin, two people were killed and five were injured in the southern city of Kherson, which was liberated in the autumn of 2022 but is still under Russian control.
