Killer Mike was held at the Grammy trophies on Sunday after winning three trophies, including his first in more than 20 years.
At the annual music awards, the 48-year-old rapper was handcuffed and led out by Los Angeles police at Crypto Arena. This happened after he won three trophies in a row at the Grammy premiere ceremony.
A Los Angeles police representative did not provide a name or any information, but verified that a Black guy was held.
A publicist for the rapper, whose real name is Michael Render, did not immediately respond to an email or text message seeking comment. The Hollywood Reporter approached members of his crew at the Grammys, but they declined to speak.
“The only thing that limits your age is not being truthful about your age or what you’re doing,” Render remarked backstage before his arrest. He won for best rap performance, song, and album.
“At 20 years old, I thought it was cool to be a drug dealer,” he told me. “At forty, I began to live with my regrets and the things I had done. At 45, I began to rap about it. “At 48, I stand here as a guy full of empathy and sympathy for what I’ve done.

Render’s first win came when he won best rap performance for Scientists & Engineers, which also won best rap song. The song features Andre 3000, Future, and Eryn Allen Kane.
Michael was recognized as the best rap album.
When he received his third award, the Atlanta-based rapper exclaimed, “Sweep!” Atlanta, it is a sweep!”
“For all the people out there that think you get too old to rap, bullshit,” he stated during the pre-telecast.
He doesn’t care, he remarked with an expletive, “if you’re 78 rapping about how many gals you got in the nursing home, make sure we keep hip-hop alive”.
