Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Host African American Art Event

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry recently held a star-studded dinner celebrating the arts.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, aged 39 and 42, announced their connection with The Kinsey African American Art and History Collection via a press statement on their official website.

According to the statement, the collection boasts “one of the most extensive holdings of African American art, artifacts, and documents.”

The Kinsey Collection posted images on Instagram of the March 21 event at Sofi Stadium in Hollywood Park.

Carousel images featured Meghan and Harry embracing attendees, as well as “a moderated conversation with Bernard, Shirley, and Khalil Kinsey, trailblazers in the art and philanthropy community who have dedicated their lives to uplifting and celebrating prolific art and culture in the context of Black America.”

“The group discussed the history and significance of Black art and how various communities can work together to preserve this vital piece of American history,” according to the Facebook post.

David Oyelowo was present to show his support.

The 48-year-old actor from Role Play holds a leadership fellowship in Nigeria, where he gives tuition for students. In 2018, Meghan and Harry’s Archewell Foundation partnered with The GEANCO Foundation to donate school materials and menstrual products.

Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, was spotted alongside Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles.

The Cowboy Carter musician, 42, and her husband, Jay-Z, 54, have been linked to Meghan since their February 2019 Brit Awards acceptance speech. In July, Meghan and Harry attended the London premiere of The Lion King, which featured the “Jolene” singer.

In September 2023, Meghan, Harry, and Ragland, 67, attended Queen Bey’s Renaissance World Tour stop at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium.

Beyoncé requested that the three attend the concert from a VIP box with a view of the stadium, dressed in silver.

Meghan and Ragland returned for a second night of mother-daughter bonding without Harry.
