A royal analyst says Prince Harry is in a “painful place” after his sister-in-law’s cancer diagnosis.
The Duke of Sussex, 39, is reportedly regretting revealing so much about his estranged family in his 2023 memoir, “Spare.”
“When you discover your sister-in-law has cancer and you’ve written things that can’t be retracted, that’s quite a painful place to be in,” said royal analyst Tessa Dunlop to Us Weekly. “I’m not saying it isn’t.”
Dunlop claimed that Harry and Meghan Markle’s previous critiques of the royal family have aged horribly now that both the Princess of Wales, 42, and King Charles III, 75, are facing cancer.
“They purposely denigrate the monarchy and then present themselves as an alternative to it. So, when the monarchy is in jeopardy, we draw a connection. “Can Harry and Meghan really hold themselves off as caring examples now?” she inquired.
“They’re certainly going to have to be careful of their timing with any releases so that it doesn’t look opportunistic.”
Dunlop suggested that the Sussexes should think twice before revealing any further information regarding Harry’s relatives.
“When that comes creeping in the door, that just reframes everything,” she said.
Middleton was shocked by the book’s accusations on her and other royals and refused to forgive Harry and Meghan for their “public betrayal” (Spare, January 2023).
At the time, royal insiders predicted that Harry would regret his statements about his family.
In the book, Harry went into great detail about Middleton’s strained relationship with his wife.
Harry shared his perspective on the controversial dress-fitting incident between the Windsor women, claiming it left Markle “sobbing on the floor.”
“Meg inquired whether Kate was aware of what was going on right now. With her father. Kate stated that she was well aware, but the dresses. “And the wedding is in four days!” Harry writes in the book.
The rogue royal released personal text messages between Markle and Middleton during their quarrel over Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid outfit.
In the book, Harry recounted a moment when Middleton offered her lip gloss to the “Suits” actress, but was surprised by Markle’s request.
He claimed the Princess of Wales “grimaced” when Meghan squeezed the gloss onto her finger and applied it to her lips.
Harry has claimed that stereotyping created a “bit of a barrier” when his wife met him and Middleton, before making shocking accusations about his brother, the heir to the throne.
He claimed Prince William, 41, physically assaulted him in a dispute two months before Harry and Markle left the royal family.
