John Dumelo Biography: Inside The Life Of Ghanaian Actor

John Dumelo, a politician, producer, actor, and farmer from Ghana, was born on February 3, 1984. He is one of the most well-known people in Ghana, and in 2014 he became the first Ghanaian to reach one million Instagram followers. John Dumelo’s skill is demonstrated by the fact that he is both an actor and a politician.

Early Life and Education

John Dumelo was born and reared in Accra, Ghana. His parents are Mrs. Antoinette Dumelo, a customs officer, and Mr. John Dumelo, a former civil engineer. He is the third kid in a family of three boys.

John completed his elementary education at Christ the King School in Accra before moving on to Achimota High School and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, where he earned a degree in civil engineering. At KNUST, he competed in “Mr. University” and won. He subsequently enrolled in the School of Public Service and Governance at GIMPA.

Career

He made his acting debut at the age of seven in the 1991 film “Baby Thief,” where he played Saka. He was in the episode “Raising to stardom” He appeared in the film “The King Is Mine” as well in 2018. And he has since been in a number of movies and TV shows. John used to be one of Ghana’s most gifted actors, but he now works full-time in politics and farming. In addition, John Dumelo is a businessman who debuted his clothing line, J. Melo, in 2012.

Engagement in Politics

One of the most notable and important celebrities who was seen supporting the NDC regime was John Dumelo. Throughout the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party’s 2016 election campaign.

John Dumelo obtained a nomination form on July 19th, 2019 to run as a parliamentary candidate for the NDC. In order to represent the NDC in the Ayawaso West Wougon Constituency in the 2020 General Elections, he won the NDC parliamentary primaries on August 24, 2019.

John successfully released his election campaign platform on October 18, 2020, and he pledged that if elected, he would donate half of his income to the advancement of young people in his district. He was defeated by the New Patriotic Party in the legislative elections on December 7, 2020. (NPP).

There were allegations that John Dramani Mahama, the former leader of Ghana, had phoned him and appointed him to work for his party as the director of operations for the pro-NDC youth organization (NDC).

Personal life

John Dumelo is married to a UK-based Lawyer Named Gifty Mawunya Nkornu who is the elder sister of one of Ghana’s Famous actors their marriage was held at Royal Senchi Resort in Akosombo. They gave birth to their first child on October 16, 2018, whose name is John Dumelo Junior.
