Dani Alves has played his first football match in prison.

After being denied bail, the Brazilian is currently being held in custody. He is accused of sexual assault in a nightclub.

He’s currently in Brians 2 Prison, located in Sant Esteve Sesrovires, near Barcelona.

Cristabal Martell, his lawyer, is expected to file an appeal to request the release of the legendary right-back.

Meanwhile, La Vanguardia, as reported by Marca, has produced a report detailing Alves’ experience in prison.

They revealed that Alves had his first football match with other inmates.

The match, which took place last Thursday, is said to have ‘raised a huge expectation’ in the prison, with other inmates eager to see Alves play.

The report does not specify what occurred during the match, but we imagine Alves performed slightly better than the rest of his prisoners. After all, he was named to Brazil’s World Cup squad for the World Cup in Qatar.

He has also been signing autographs for many of the inmates’ cellmates.

Coutinho and Alves share a room. That’s not it.

Coutinho is a fellow Brazilian who worked as a bodyguard and bouncer in some of Barcelona’s nightclubs for Ronaldinho.

A useful person to have as a cellmate.

Alves was given a €100 card when he arrived at prison. He used it to buy himself some necessities, including four cans of tuna, four yoghurts, a bottle of shampoo, a deodorant, and some energy drinks.

What is Dani Alves in prison for?

Alves was arrested after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in a nightclub in Spain.

The incident is said to have occurred in Barcelona on December 30, last year.

Alves allegedly slapped and raped the alleged victim in the toilets of the exclusive Sutton nightclub.

According to Spanish media, Alves initially denied any contact with the woman.

In a Spanish TV interview, Alves said: “I don’t know who this lady is.

“I don’t know her name, I don’t know her, I’ve never seen her in my life.”

But Alves’ story changed and he admitted to having consensual sex with the woman.

It’s believed the changing of stories led him to being detained without bail.

A spokesman for the police force said: “The victim of an alleged indecent assault at a nightspot in Barcelona on the night of December 30 to 31 has presented a formal complaint.

“She filed that complaint at a police station on Monday.

“A report will now be submitted to an investigating court which will determine what steps should subsequently be taken.”
