Julia Scott, a seven-year-old entrepreneur, spent the summer running a snow cone business in her Atlanta neighborhood. She grew up with the idea of generosity and used her earnings to donate to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in Brookhaven, where she was born.
Kalea Hunter, her mentor, taught the seven-year-old about generosity and the delight of giving. She and her younger sister Hannah Rose promote the concept of pursuing what you love.
Scott donated $350 to the hospital from her company proceeds as a genuine expression of gratitude to the physicians, nurses, and staff who cared for her over the years.
The young philanthropist said of the hospital staff to WSB-TV, “They’re so kind. It’s just amazing there.”
After experiencing multiple hospital stays due to her premature birth, Scott wanted to express her gratitude for the care she had been given.
Her mother, Karen Kenner Scott, also remarked, “Having a relationship with doctors, nurses, and people at the front desk who really care for children has been so important. She feels that.”
Scott, who will turn eight years old soon, intends to carry on her yearly snow cone fundraising campaign.
