Ariana Grande, the US singer, and her husband, Dalton Gomez, have finalized their divorce after nearly three years of marriage.
Grande filed for divorce in 2023, citing “irreconcilable differences”.
A divorce was granted by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge on Tuesday, as reported by the Associated Press.
Grande, 30, and Gomez, 28, who split up earlier in 2023, had a prenuptial agreement and had no children together. This, combined with the lack of serious legal problems, made for a quick resolution.
The deal, reached in October, comprised a one-time payment of $1.25 million by Grande to Gomez, with no future alimony.
The pop artist, who has an estimated net worth of $240 million, will also receive half the earnings from the eventual sale of their Los Angeles property and contribute up to $25,000 towards Gomez’s attorney bills.
The couple started dating in January 2020 and confined themselves during the COVID-19 pandemic.
They appeared together in the video for Justin Bieber’s charity track ‘Stuck With U’ in May of that year.
By December, they were engaged, and they will marry in May 2021.
The music artist recently released her seventh studio album, ‘Eternal Sunshine’.
She will co-star with Cynthia Erivo as the good witch Glinda in the two-part film adaptation of the Broadway musical ‘Wicked’, set to be released in November.
