Walmart Heiress Alice Walton Now World’s Richest Woman at $95 billion

Alice Walton is on track to join the elite company of centi-billionaires, including Elon Musk, Bill Gates, and Warren Buffett, once her wealth reaches $100 billion.

The Walmart heiress has surpassed L’Oréal’s Françoise Bettencourt Meyers to become the world’s wealthiest woman. Her net worth is likely to reach $100 billion in the near future.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Alice Walton, the daughter of retail billionaire Sam Walton, is now worth more than $95 billion for the first time. Her net worth climbed by $25 billion this year, thanks in large part to Walmart’s 44% increase in stock price to a new high.

Bettencourt Meyers, the granddaughter of French cosmetics tycoon Eugène Schueller, had her wealth fall by $9 billion this year to $91 billion, owing to a 12% drop in L’Oréal shares since January.

In the previous year, Walton was valued at $70 billion, while Bettencourt-Meyers was worth $100 billion. On Bloomberg’s rich list, Bettencourt Meyers is presently placed 20th, while Walton is ranked 18th, just ahead of her two brothers, Robson Walton ($95.8 billion) and Jim Walton ($98 billion). Assuming their father distributed his Walmart stock equally among his four children, each sibling owns more than 11% of the corporation. According to Bloomberg, they have made over $15 billion in dividends and stock sales since 1992.l.

Bettencourt Meyers owns nearly 35% of the world’s largest cosmetics company, the parent of Maybelline and Garnier. After her mother, Liliane Bettencourt, died in 2017, she inherited the interest.
