Tanzania to Become First Sub-Saharan African country to Introduce The Ritz-Carlton brand

According to The Citizen, Tanzania will become the first Sub-Saharan African country to incorporate The Ritz-Carlton brand into its tourism expansion strategy.

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, LLC is an American multinational corporation that owns and runs the luxury hotel brand The Ritz-Carlton. The Ritz-Carlton brand introduced elegance to hotels in the United States a century ago, according to its website.

Today, the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, a division of Marriott International, operates over 100 luxury hotels and resorts in 30 countries and territories, with over 29,000 rooms and more on the way.

According to The Citizen, the brand is currently exclusive to Morocco and Egypt in Africa.

The primary actors responsible for creating the brand in Tanzania are currently unknown, but residents are enthused about the idea because it would help the country’s tourism industry.

According to local media, President Samia Suluhu’s Royal Tour, which exhibited Tanzania’s beauty to the globe, may have had an impact on the country’s progress.

Tanzania received almost 1.8 million tourists last year, generating $3.4 billion in travel receipts. The tourism ministry anticipates the sum to climb to $6 billion by 2025, based on five million travelers.

The Ritz-Carlton story comes after Tanzania donated property to Idris Elba to develop Africa’s largest film studio.
