T-Pain Alleges Racism After Taking Credit for Country Songs He Penned

T-Pain, who is well-known for his songwriting abilities, is no longer competing for awards for tracks on which he collaborated. In a recent TikTok video, he expressed fondness for country music, despite his hip-hop and R&B background.

The 39-year-old musician expressed his conviction that excellent music transcends genres, saying, “Good music is good music.”

“I don’t care where it comes from or what style it’s in. According to Eton Online, he believes that listening to different genres of music is not acceptable among his peers.

He finds inspiration for his harmonies in country and gospel music, which strongly affect his musical style.

The Grammy-winning singer revealed that he has composed country songs, but has chosen not to claim credit for them due to racist backlash.

“I done wrote a lot of country songs,” he told reporters. “I stopped taking credit for it because, as cool as it is to see your name in those credits and s**t like that, the racism that comes after it is just like…” I’ll just accept the cheque; don’t put me on that s**t. “I’ll just take the check, bro, never mind,” he said, laughing.

T-Pain, also known as Faheem Rashad Najm, did not elaborate on the country songs he has contributed to or the hatred he has encountered. He has written songs for several performers, including Bruno Mars, Chris Brown, and Jamie Foxx.

His love of numerous genres, especially country music, is obvious on his CD “On Top of the Covers,” which includes covers of David Allan Coe’s “Tennessee Whiskey” and Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs.”

On social media, Ozzy Osbourne, the lead singer of Black Sabbath, praised his performance after seeing a viral clip of it. “This is the best cover of ‘War Pigs’ ever,” Osbourne stated. “Why didn’t you guys call me?”

T-Pain reacted by extending an invitation to Osbourne.

“You are always invited. “Top of the list every time!!” he exclaimed. “Thank you so lot. It means a lot coming from such a terrific person.”
