Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in ‘Tense’ Talks With Palace Over Attending Coronation

Negotiations between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are “tense” in order for them to attend King Charles’ Coronation in May.

As reported by The Sun, a source told OK! magazine: “The Palace are trying to wrap up negotiations as quickly as possible because they can’t go right up to the wire. It could lead to chaos. It could very well be that it ends in stalemate, and they won’t attend. But the Palace is doing everything in its power to not let that happen. The Palace are organizing two schedules. One that includes the Sussexes and one the doesn’t. They want to be prepared for any eventuality.”

The children of Prince William and Kate Middleton, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Royal Louis, will join their parents, King Charles, and Queen Camilla in the parade from Westminster Abbey back to Buckingham Palace following Charles’ coronation, according to the London Times. According to rehearsal plans seen by the tabloid, the children will ride in a carriage behind Charles and Camilla, who will be in the Gold State Coach.

George, the second in line to the throne, was expected to attend and may even play a role in the celebration, but Charlotte, 8, and Louis (who turns 5 on April 23) were not confirmed until now.

According to the rehearsal schedule, individuals who will not be participating in the procession include Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Prince Andrew, and his children Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. The Times also confirmed prior reports that Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, Harry and Meghan’s children, have not yet been invited to the ceremony.

The procession will include Princess Anne and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and the Duke of Kent and his sister Princess Alexandra, according to the Times.
