Nursing Assistant Received Plastic Surgery on a Credit Card in the Name of a Patient – Florida Cops

According to Florida police, a licensed nursing assistant established a credit card in the name of her Alzheimer’s patient and used it to pay for plastic surgery.

According to an April 28 news release from the Volusia Sheriff’s Office, the patient, an 88-year-old woman, received a bill for $7,160.11 at her residence in Deltona on April 4.

According to the statement, the woman’s husband told deputies that neither he nor his wife signed up for the credit card account.

According to the announcement, investigators discovered that the card was used for a $7,000 transaction at Moon Plastic Surgery in Miami, some 260 miles southeast of Deltona. The consumer described herself as the 88-year-old woman’s in-home nursing assistant.

According to deputies, the nursing assistant, a 31-year-old woman, was suspended by her employer, American In-Home Care, on April 4. On April 28, the corporation did not reply immediately to a request for comment from McClatchy News.

According to the sheriff’s office, the nursing assistant denied creating a credit card in her patient’s name and receiving plastic surgery.

She then called the patient’s husband and asked if they could meet to discuss a “repayment plan,” according to the release.

According to the announcement, the nursing assistant went to her patient’s residence on April 27 with an envelope containing $1,500 and a document for a loan agreement. Deputies were waiting for her at her home when she was apprehended.

She was charged with grand theft and fraudulent use of identity without the consent of a victim 60 years or older, according to the sheriff’s office. She was released after posting $10,000 bail.
