LeBron James’ 2013 Finals Miami Heat Jersey Sells For A Record-Breaking $3.7M

According to TMZ, a piece of LeBron James’ legacy has been sold for a whopping $3.7 million, setting a new record.

The memento is his No. 6 Miami Heat jersey, which he wore in the team’s 2013 NBA Finals victory over the San Antonio Spurs. It was the basketball superstar’s second championship at the time.

According to Sotheby’s, this is the most expensive game-worn jersey ever sold by James.

“Today’s tremendous result comes at a pivotal time in LeBron James’ career, where he is in arm’s reach of clenching the all-time points record — one of the NBA’s most revered accolades,” Sotheby’s officials said in a statement, per the outlet.

While the winning bidder’s identity is unknown, the jersey is said to have been purchased by a private collector.

Sotheby’s did reveal, however, that the jersey sold for a total of $3,680,000, making it one of the “highest prices achieved for any game-worn jersey on the open market.”

Aside from the sale of the jersey, the night James wore it became legendary.

It was his first Game 7 of his NBA career, and he won the NBA Finals MVP award for the second time.
