Lady Gaga In Paris, Sparking Olympic Opening Ceremony Rumours

A video of Lady Gaga in Paris just days before the start of the Olympic Games has fueled speculation that the US pop artist may appear in Friday’s opening ceremony.

Videos uploaded on social media show the 38-year-old arriving at a hotel in the French capital.

The music for the opening ceremony, which will take place along the Seine rather than in the athletics stadium for the first time in Olympic history, has yet to be fully announced.

Aya Nakamura, a Franco-Malian R&B sensation, is generally expected to perform despite objections from far-right leaders, including Marine Le Pen, who stated her attendance would “humiliate” France.

Celine Dion has also been spotted in Paris, fueling speculation that she could participate in either the opening or closing ceremonies.

French electro legends Daft Punk have declined an invitation to perform at the opening ceremony, while globe-trotting French DJ David Guetta has been ignored, much to his chagrin.

In the ceremony, some 6,000-7,000 athletes will sail along a six-kilometer (four-mile) stretch of the Seine River from the Austerlitz Bridge in the east to the Eiffel Tower in 85 barges and boats.
