Kate Middleton claims she has received numerous “kind messages” since her cancer diagnosis.
The Princess of Wales has also asked that the public respect her family’s privacy as she receives treatment.
Middleton stated on Friday that she is in early stages of therapy for cancer.
She described the diagnosis as a “huge shock” following a “incredibly tough couple of months”.
During January’s abdominal surgery, the princess was unaware of her cancer diagnosis.
She stated that tests conducted following the operation revealed the presence of malignancy.
Middleton added that she is “well and getting stronger every day”.
“My medical team advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy. I am now in the early stages of that treatment,” she had said.
According to the BBC, a spokesperson for Kensington Palace stated that Prince William and his wife, Middleton, are “extremely moved” by people’s goodwill.
The official further stated that the royal couple has requested privacy and is grateful that the public understands their desire.
“They are both enormously touched by the kind messages from people in the UK, across the Commonwealth, and around the world,” the spokesperson said.
“They are extremely moved by the public’s warmth and support and are grateful for the understanding of their request for privacy at this time.”
Kate’s chemotherapy treatment started in late February.
The palace said it would not share any other medical details, including the type of cancer.
Kate Middleton is married to William, the Prince of Wales and heir to the British monarchy.
Their marriage produced three children.
