Jens Montanana, the CEO and founder of Datatec, a South African-based global technology business, received a total remuneration package from the tech group in 2023 of $11.94 million.
Montanana led the IT firm to a comprehensive income of $70.62 million at the end of its fiscal year in 2023.His 2023 remuneration package includes a $1.2 million base salary and a $1.61 million performance-based short-term incentive based on the group’s performance throughout the fiscal year.
He also received a $8.86 million long-term incentive payment from the international technology organization in recognition of his unrelenting dedication to the group and his depth of expertise as a seasoned business leader and top professional.
Datatec was formed in 1986 by Montanana, who is well-known for his leadership and contributions to the technology business. His leadership abilities and commercial acumen have solidified his position as one of the wealthiest investors on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, which is partly due to his huge investment in the company.
Datatec has expanded its footprint across more than 50 countries under his skilled guidance, offering different ICT solutions, most notably in Software as a Service (SaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
He has also guided Datatec to significant financial achievements, with the company’s comprehensive income reaching $70.62 million at the end of its fiscal year in 2023.
Aside from his management and governance duties, Montanana currently holds 14.06 percent of Datatec, which equates to 31,832,429 ordinary shares in the South African technology company, and is currently worth at about $56 million.
