Beyoncé’s Daughter Rumi Breaks Billboard Record, Surpassing Sister Blue Ivy

Rumi Carter, Beyoncé’s 6-year-old daughter, has surpassed her 12-year-old sister Blue Ivy to become the youngest female artist to debut on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

In the song “Protector” from Beyonce’s new album Cowboy Carter, Rumi makes history by requesting the singer, “Mom, can I hear the lullaby, please?” before Beyoncé begins the first line.

“Protector” debuted at No. 42 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100, while tracks from her Cowboy Carter album dominated the charts.

According to People, Blue Ivy previously held the record for appearing on Beyoncé’s song “Brown Skinned Girl” at the age of 7.

Blue Ivy remains the youngest artist to appear on any Billboard chart, courtesy to her 2012 cameo on her father JAY-Z’s “Glory” (as “B.I.C.”), according to Billboard.

Beyoncé is making history as the latest artist to have at least 100 career entries on the Billboard Hot 100, thanks to her freshly released album, which includes 23 songs on this week’s chart.

According to HipHopDX, she is the third female artist and the 17th overall to reach the Hot 100 since its start in 1958.

With 407,000 album-equivalent units sold in its first week, the Cowboy Carter album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, the album’s highest sales figure to date.
