The internet is amazed by the sharp intelligence of 2-year-old Devan. The youngster, also known as Baby Dev, has accumulated an audience of over 943.7K followers on TikTok and Instagram thanks to his aptitude for math.
Blavity claims that his parents first posted a video of him working through a range of math problems to show how much he loves numbers. Devan’s ability to quickly solve math problems that most people need calculators for is astounding.
Some of his fans commended his ability with comments like, “Bro being teaching me maths for the past days.”
Another said, “I can’t believe I’m watching this with a calculator.”
Kelly Clarkson, a singer and media figure, was drawn to his videos and wanted to interview him and his father, Duane, on her talk show.
When the singer asked Duane when Devan’s number obsession started, the father said that they observed the youngster become fascinated with numbers while watching TV, and it was evident that his kid was fascinated with numbers the moment he yelled his first word, which wasn’t “mama” or “dada.”
“At four months old, we started showing Devan numbers and we noticed when we would change the channel on the shows, he would start to cry and when we would change it back, he would stop crying. And also his first word was seven and so we thought that was pretty cool,” Duane said to Clarkson on a video call with Baby Dev sitting on his lap.
He added, “We’d practice writing numbers from one to 100 by holding his hands and saying it out loud, so soon after that, he was able to write numbers all on his own.” This was done when Baby Dev was just a year old.
Through Pilot Pen, Clarkson’s show’s season-long partner, she gave them $1,000 “just for being rad” for their attendance.
There is no denying that Baby Dev’s love of arithmetic has been fostered by his parents, and that he has a bright future ahead of him.
