Nicholas Buamah, 11, noticed that there were no shows on television that featured intellectual children of color like himself, so he created one. Nicholas hired a team of professional scriptwriters, producers, and a director with the help of his mother Danielle, and then began work on his family-friendly sitcom, Nick’s House.

Nick’s House is about a 10-year-old business savvy kid who runs a successful business out of his parents’ home with his friends. When his immature uncle, played by comedian Boogie B. Montrell, moves in to be his nanny, chaos ensues.

Nicholas has taken on the roles of show creator, executive producer, and star. He is very proud of the overall production, but he must give credit to the team of professionals who assisted him in creating such an iconic show.

Nick’s House was directed by LaMont Ferrell, a Hollywood producer. Girlfriends, Moesha, The Office, Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, and other memorable shows have been produced by Ferrell. “It was truly amazing to have someone with LaMont’s credentials believe in the project and offer to direct our pilot episode,” Nicholas’ mother Danielle says.

Nicholas is not only a show creator, but also the author of three published books and the founder of Books Without Borders, Inc. Despite his already hectic schedule, he makes time to accept accolades. Last year, Stonecrest, Georgia, Mayor Jazzmin Cobble presented the young entrepreneur with a proclamation and officially declared July 21, 2022, Nicholas Buamah Day. Nicholas will travel to New York in February to accept the Nina Simone Artistic Excellence Award in Writing, Production, and Philanthropy from the Young, Gifted, and Black (YGB) Entrepreneurial Awards.

Nicholas would like to see his show on Nickelodeon, Disney, Netflix, Hulu, and BET, to name a few networks. With pilot season officially underway, Nicholas is upbeat about the future of Nick’s House.
