A server at a Nebraska restaurant thanked Jason Derulo after the award-winning musician left him a $5,000 tip for serving him and his family. According to CBS News, Charleston’s Restaurant server Jordan Schaffer said in a TikTok post on Tuesday that the gratuity he earned was enough to cover his college semester tuition.
Besides thanking the Jiggle Jiggle singer for his kind gesture, Schaffer, in the video, also said serving Derulo and his family will never be erased from his mind. “Hey Jason, thank you, you just paid for a semester of my college. I can’t say thank you enough,” said Schaffer in the video. “I hope you and your family have a wonderful time in Omaha, and I hope you see us again. Thank you so much.”
When the video came to a close, Schaffer held up the receipt to show the sizable tip. The entire payment was $5,795. Derulo, 33, commented on Schaffer’s praise message, adding the waiter came off as “a nice person.” The musician also expressed gratitude to Schaffer for looking after his family at the eatery.
This isn’t the first time Derulo has done something admirable. According to CBS Texas, in 2020, a 14-year-old leukemia patient undergoing treatment was startled with a virtual visit from the Whatcha Say singer and Will Smith.
