Kanye West Will Not Face Charges for ‘Throwing’ a Female Photographer’s Cellphone During Heated Exchange

Kanye West will not face charges for allegedly hurling a female photographer’s cellphone in January after accusing her of ‘following’ him to his children’s basketball game.

According to TMZ, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office stated on March 15 that the cellphone only received “minimal damage” to its $30 protective case.

After that, the woman whose property had been destroyed declined to seek charges against West, 45.

At the time of the incident, the outlet said that police were called to the site, given video evidence, and later listed West as a suspect in a battery case.

The video, which was shared to social media, appeared to show West having a heated back-and-forth with the female photog before grabbing her cellphone from her and tossing it aside.

On Friday, January 28, he was on his way to his daughter North’s, nine, and son Saint’s, seven, basketball game in Los Angeles when the alleged event occurred.

The rapper, who appears to be aware that he is being trailed by photographers, is seen exiting his black Mercedes-Benz to approach the female driver. Bianca Censori, his new ‘wife,’ was seen in the passenger seat of his automobile but did not accompany the Grammy Award-winner.

The woman filmed West from the driver’s seat as he said: ‘You didn’t have to run up on me like that.

‘If I say stop, stop with your cameras!’ Kanye continued, before the woman suggested she was within her rights to film him because he is a ‘celebrity.’

Kanye may have been enraged at the reaction, as he pulled the woman’s cellphone from her grasp before hurling it into the air.

It was believed to have happened near the sports facility where his children were supposed to play.

Kim Kardashian, West’s ex-wife, was also seen coming at the game with her sister, Khloe Kardashian’s ex Tristan Thompson, 32.
