Kai Cenat: Haitian-Trinidadian Internet Star Becomes Nike’s First Streaming Partner

Kai Cenat, a popular Twitch streamer, revealed a successful cooperation with Nike. According to Complex, this marks the first time a livestream has joined the Nike family.

During a livestream, Cenat announced that they have joined the Nike family. “It has been a long time waiting.”

Cenat plans “something big” with Nike for an upcoming in-real-life (IRL) stream in Las Vegas, but has yet to confirm contract terms.

The announcement comes ahead of NBA All-Star Weekend, when Cenat will represent Team Shannon in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game on February 16. Cenat may wear Nike for the high-profile game given that he is officially part of the Nike family.

Game Rant reports that he is the most-watched Twitch livestream, with over 7 million followers and 115 million hours of total watch time. The 22-year-old New York native, who is of Haitian and Trinidadian descent, began making YouTube prank and challenge videos in 2018. By 2021, he had established himself on Twitch and was a huge success. Just like Khaby Lame rules TikTok, Cenat rules Twitch. According to Rolling Stone, he rose to prominence through his gaming broadcasts and reactions to viral pop culture trends.

Cenat, like other content creators, has published his own singles and expanded his work globally. For example, a recent trip abroad produced the film “I Rented Us Girlfriends In Japan.”

In addition, in January 2023, he reached a milestone by successfully livestreaming around the clock for a 30-day “subathon” to attract subscribers. He apparently surpassed the previous record for active subscribers, with over 300,000 paying watchers.

Having won Streamer of the Year the previous two years, he has welcomed significant celebrities into his streams, like Nicki Minaj, Offset, 21 Savage, Lil Baby, and more. Forbes reports that he has earned $4.7 million through his social media efforts. This ranks him among the highest-paid content providers in the world.
