Dozens of foreigners were killed, injured, or kidnapped during a surprise attack on Israel by the Palestinian militant group Hamas, which killed 900 Israelis.
Many of the missing foreigners attended an electronic music festival in the southern Israeli desert, where dozens of revelers were killed.
Here is what we know so far:
Thailand: 18 dead, 11 hostages
According to foreign affairs officials, eighteen Thais have been killed, nine have been injured, and eleven have been kidnapped.
According to Deputy Foreign Minister Jakkapong Sangmanee, approximately 5,000 Thai citizens have been evacuated from high-risk regions, and “more than 3,000 people (have) asked to return to Thailand.”
US: 11 Dead, Others Missing
On Monday, the US acknowledged the deaths of at least 11 US nationals and stated that Americans were most likely among the captives held by Hamas.
“Sadly, we now know that at least 11 American citizens were among those killed — many of whom had made a second home in Israel,” President Joe Biden said in a statement.
Nepal: 10 Dead
Ten Nepalese residents were killed in Kibbutz Alumim, one of the flashpoints of the Hamas attack, according to the Himalayan republic’s embassy in Tel Aviv on Sunday.
Four others were being treated in hospitals, and a search for a fifth person was underway, according to the embassy.
At the time of the incident, Kibbutz Alumim was home to 17 students.
France: Eight Dead, 20 Missing
The French authorities confirmed the deaths of eight French nationals on Tuesday, warning that the death toll was expected to grow.
Twenty persons were still missing, with some of them most likely abducted, according to the report.
Argentina: Seven Dead, 15 Missing
Argentina’s foreign ministry acknowledged on Monday that seven of its citizens were dead and 15 others were missing.
Russia: Four Dead, Six missing
According to the Russian embassy in Tel Aviv, at least four Russian-Israelis have been killed.
It reported that it had no knowledge of any hostages, but that six Russian nationals were missing.
Ukraine: Two Dead
Two Ukrainian ladies who had been living in Israel for years were assassinated, according to Oleg Nikolenko, spokesman for Ukraine’s foreign ministry.
UK: Two Dead
The families of two British men have confirmed their deaths. Nathanel Young, 20, was a soldier in the Israeli army.
Foreign Secretary James Cleverly stated on Tuesday that there had been a “significant number” of British-Israeli dual nationals caught up in the violence.
Canada: One Dead, Three Missing
According to the Canadian authorities, one Canadian has died and three others are missing.
Cambodia: One Dead
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet confirmed the death of one Cambodian student.
Germany: Several Hostages
Several dual German-Israeli nationals have been kidnapped, according to a German foreign ministry source on Sunday.
Shani Louk’s mother informed Der Spiegel that she recognized her daughter in videos circulating online of a half-naked lady lying seemingly comatose face down in the back of a pick-up truck full with armed men in Gaza.
Ricarda Louk confirmed to Spiegel that her daughter attended the music festival.
Philippines: Five Missing
The Philippines’ envoy to Israel stated Tuesday that five citizens were missing, with one possibly abducted.
Chile: Three Dead, One Missing
Three Israelis of Chilean ancestry have been killed, and one remains missing.
Peru: Two Dead, Three Missing
According to authorities, two Peruvians were slain and three are missing.
Austria: Three Missing
Austria’s foreign ministry warned early Tuesday that three dual Austrian-Israeli nationals who were staying in Israel’s south separately could be among those kidnapped.
Brazil: One Dead, Three Missing
On Tuesday, Brazil’s foreign ministry announced the death of a Brazilian-Israeli citizen. It was unclear whether they were among the three dual Brazilian-Israeli nationals who went missing after the festival.
Italy: Two Missing
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said that two Israeli-Italians were missing.
“They have not been located and are not answering calls,” he said.
Paraguay: Two Missing
Two Paraguayan nationals who had been living in Israel have gone missing, according to Paraguay’s authorities, without providing any specifics.
Peru: Two Missing
The Peruvian foreign ministry stated that two people were missing, but provided no other information.
Sri Lanka: Two Missing
The ambassador of Sri Lanka to Israel stated on Tuesday that two nationals, a 48-year-old male and a 49-year-old lady, were missing.
Tanzania: Two Missing
Tanzania’s ambassador to Israel told AFP that two Tanzanians had gone missing.
Mexico: Two Hostages
Mexico’s Foreign Minister, Alicia Barcena, announced on X, previously Twitter, that two Mexicans, a man and a woman, had been kidnapped, but provided no other details.
Colombia: Two Hostages
Two Colombians who were attending the Supernova event were reported missing by Israel’s envoy to Colombia on X.
The Colombian government verified that two Colombians were present at the event and stated that it was attempting to locate them.
Ireland: One Missing
An Irish-Israeli woman has been confirmed missing by the Irish government.
