Arteta Agrees New Arsenal Deal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has agreed to a new three-year deal with the Premier League club, putting an end to speculation about his future, according to multiple sources on Thursday.

The 42-year-old has been in charge of the Gunners since 2019, leading them to two second-place league finishes, but he is nearing the end of his contract.

Last month, Arteta urged for calm in his contract issue, stating that his attention had been on the transfer market.

His new contract comes on the brink of Arsenal’s Premier League clash with London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Since leaving a coaching position at Manchester City to succeed Unai Emery at the Emirates, Arteta, a former Arsenal player, has won trophies and returned the club to Premier League title contention.

In his first season in charge, the Arsenal won the FA Cup.

They have also finished as Premier League runners-up the previous two seasons, challenging winners Manchester City in thrilling title wars.

Arsenal are presently fourth in the table after two victories and a draw, and their Champions League campaign starts next week against Atalanta.
