Who are the Highest-Paid Tech CEOs in the United States?

Who is America’s highest-paid tech CEO? You’d be correct if you responded “Sundar Pichai,” but some of the other names (and companies) on the list of highest-paid CEOs could surprise you.

The annual salary of these leaders will astound you. The median weekly wage in the United States for the fourth quarter of 2022 was $1,085 per week, or $56,420 per year. In comparison, the country’s 52 highest-paid tech CEOs earn multiple times more in one minute than the average worker gets in a week.

Employees may receive bonuses and raises when their companies perform successfully. In most situations, however, it is the CEOs who gain the most. And if there is one business where most companies are doing exceptionally well right now, it is the technology sector. Six of the 52 pay packages we looked at were paid less than $20 million, while five exceeded $100 million.

Reed Hastings stepped down as CEO in 2023 to become executive chairman, and was succeeded by the two Co-CEOs, Greg Peters and Ted Sarandos. Chano Fernandez will leave his position as co-CEO of Workday Inc. in December 2022. Carl Eschenbach was named co-CEO, working alongside current CEO Aneel Bhusri. Aneel Bhusri will continue as co-CEO until January 2024.

BlackLine (BL) has named co-CEOs Therese Tucker, founder and former Chief Executive, and Chair Owen Ryan, effective immediately. Tucker and Ryan succeed Marc Huffman, who committed to continue as an advisor through 2024, according to the firm, which also stated that Ryan will stay chair.
