WATCH: Jasmine Guy Reveals She Hid Tupac Shakur In Her Home After He Was Shot

During a recent interview on the Sherri daytime talk program, legendary singer and actress Jasmine Guy stated that she enabled rapper Tupac to remain in her home after he was shot in New York in 1994.

According to PEOPLE, the 61-year-old told host Sherri Shepherd that she accommodated Tupac because he wanted to stay in a safe spot in the aftermath of the shooting. Guy and Tupac met during a cameo appearance on the TV series A Different World.

“Well, the development was after the shooting in New York,” Guy informed the program on Thursday. “First and foremost, I was hanging out with Tupac because he was close pals with Jada [Pinkett Smith]. We would always hang out after the show.”

After Tupac was shot, Guy and Pinkett Smith reportedly visited him in the hospital. However, the rapper had already left when they arrived. “He felt unsafe there. “He was shot,” the Grey’s Anatomy star stated.

“He felt like a sitting duck.” I kept a low profile, so they were unaware of our friendship. It seemed like “The Diary of Anne Frank” because I couldn’t tell anyone he was present.

Guy said Tupac stayed in her home for a few weeks to recover from his wounds, and his family joined them. “Everyone was in that same room,” she recounted.

Guy also stated that she informed Tupac’s family that if they “want to keep it peaceful, everyone has to leave by 10 p.m.” And it lasted around two days. “‘You do not comprehend. We are the Shakurs. “We’ll show you how to have a family life,” the late rapper’s family said.

“It was fun, other than the stress of it,” she said.

Despite surviving the 1994 shooting, Tupac was fatally shot in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996. He died from his injuries on September 13. In September of last year, former gang member Duane “Keefe D” Davis was arrested and charged with Tupac’s murder.
