In 2014, Vera was accused of lightening her skin, but she admitted to her accuser that she did that in the UK. She said her skin cost her over KSh15 million ($125,000). She told Larry Madowo, in an interview that

In October, 2022, Vera Sidika advised young girls not to allow peer pressure to plunge them into activities that could ruin their future.
Sidika said this via her post on Instagram on Wednesday following her latest surgery to reduce her butt size as she admonished young girls to appreciate their natural bodies.
