Tiger Woods’ current business venture with Justin Timberlake expands his business portfolio. T-Squared Social, which was born over a game of golf at Albany in the Bahamas, is set to launch in New York City.
Woods and Timberlake thought it would be fun to develop a venue that mixes people’s favorite things and invites them together to have a good time.
“The idea for T-Squared Social came to us during a round of golf at Albany, our development in The Bahamas,” Woods said, according to this press statement. “Justin and I thought it would be cool to create a place that combines our favorite things and brings people together to just have a great time. We always knew we wanted to do something together, and NEXUS gave us the platform to bring our idea to life.”
“We knew a concept like T-Squared Social would thrive in New York,” said Timberlake. “It’s a beautiful space that transcends the typical sports bar experience. You can go to be entertained without sacrificing quality or comfort. We’re excited to be partnering with 8AM Golf on this incredible opportunity right in the heart of one of the greatest cities in the world.”
The restaurant offers gourmet cuisine, specialty beverages, Full Swing simulators, duckpin bowling, and darts, as well as televisions for viewing sports. The restaurant also features “multiple low- and high-top tables; a variety of plush lounge areas; and reservations-only luxury ‘Box Seats’ featuring 11 four-top tables in front of a 200-inch, high-definition screen said to be the largest single screen in NYC,” according to the press release.
Woods’ investment in the culinary and entertainment industry is not his first. According to CBSSports, he co-owns the PopStroke, a technology-infused golf entertainment concept with venues planned across the country this year and next.In addition, he owns The Woods Jupiter restaurant in Jupiter, Florida.
Woods’ career suffered as a result of a publicized divorce due to adultery, which resulted in the loss of many endorsement deals, a few run-ins with the law, and a spate of injuries.
Woods, on the other hand, has managed to put his history behind him and show his detractors wrong. He just won his fifth Masters championship at the Augusta National, his first major triumph in 11 years, in what has been described as one of the greatest comebacks in athletic history.
According to Sportico, he and Michael Jordan will be the highest-paid athletes of all time in 2021. He earned $2.1 billion throughout his career and benefited from a long-standing Nike partnership.
In June this year, Woods was also featured in Forbes magazine’s “New Sports Billionaires in the world.”
