The 42-year-old tennis superstar Serena Williams caught the attention of her online fans with a recent revelation. She posted on Instagram about her recent trip to New York, where she donated some of her leftover breast milk.
“After going through a screening, I was able to donate it instead of taking the milk home,” Williams captioned an Instagram video. “I know so many amazing women that adopt or are unable to make milk. It felt amazing. BTW Someone out there is getting some super soldier milk.”
The mompreneur’s voice can be heard off-camera as she unlocks a freezer and arranges several breast milk packets.
Williams said she was “really excited” to donate the breast milk “to people who really need it.”
Before closing the freezer door, she added, “It’ll be anonymous, but super excited to just help in some way.”
Followers in her comments shared their amusement with clever words like, “That’s G.O.A.T. Milk!”
Another said, “This is probably worth millions of dollars,” while another joked, “The baby that will drink this milk will become the next Wimbledon’ s winner.”
Williams recently highlighted another brilliant use for leftover breast milk: treating sunburn.
“They say, ‘Put breast milk on everything, and I have a lot extra,” the mom of two joked in a TikTok video she put out. “So I’m going to try it for a week or so under my eyes.”
She explained that after using a skincare product, she was exposed to the sun and developed sunburns beneath her eyes.
She shook a bottle of breast milk before she put the milk into a little tissue and dabbed it under her eyes.
In the caption, she wrote, “I have to say after a week of using MY breast milk under my eye – it worked!”
