Taylor Swift Gives $100k To Family Of Super Bowl Parade Shooting Victim

Taylor Swift donated $100,000 on Friday to a charity benefiting the family of a woman slain in a mass shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl triumph parade.

The GoFundMe campaign was set up the day before, with the goal of raising $75,000 for the family of Elizabeth Lopez-Galvan, who was killed in the shooting, which also injured 22 people, including numerous children.

“I am sending my heartfelt regrets and condolences in the wake of your sad loss. With love, Taylor Swift, read a message beside a $50,000 donation to the cause. A second donation of the same amount was made minutes later.

Swift’s adviser confirmed to Variety magazine that the donations on the page were indeed the singer’s.

Along with Swift, almost 2,000 others have contributed to the page, which has raised more than $200,000.

Police stated that the gunshot on Wednesday was the result of a “dispute,” and two adolescents were among those detained.

Shots rang out Wednesday afternoon as up to a million ecstatic supporters gathered for the parade of NFL winners.

Mass shootings are prevalent in the United States, where there are more guns than people and nearly one-third of adults possess a handgun.

The Chiefs won their third Super Bowl title in five seasons on Sunday, defeating the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas.

Swift is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and has been a frequent at games this season, including the championship Sunday.

The megastar is presently in Australia as part of her highly successful Eras international tour.
