Smartvel, a travel content expert, has purchased Avuxi, a location-based travel service provider, for an unknown sum.
TopPlace, Avuxi’s technology, analyzes geotagged data to identify city and local area highlights. Furthermore, the platform, which is used by online travel agencies and metasearch engines to increase conversion, allows passengers to explore and choose a destination for their stay.
Smartvel, founded in 2013, offers a variety of products, including Trip Planner, Explore&Go, Event Calendar, TravelSEO, EntryDocs, and more. Each is intended to inspire passengers with personalized offers and increase conversions.
Last year, Smartvel bought ArrivalGuides to strengthen its position in the destination content sector. This move broadened Smartvel’s content offerings and created new prospects for growth.
Smartvel hopes to broaden its product offering and establish synergies both internally and with customers by incorporating Avuxi into its suite of AI-enriched technology.
“Avuxi will enable us to collaborate with new and major market players, enhancing the value proposition of our services. Smartvel’s CEO, Inigo Valenzuela, stated that the acquisition will result in a powerful combination in the travel market. “Avuxi’s innovative positioning and relevance solutions will fit seamlessly with Smartvel’s AI enriched content and digital technology to collect, classify and geolocate all aspects of experiences, services and local places of interest in any destination worldwide.”
“This strategic alignment marks an exciting new chapter for both companies, combining Avuxi’s advanced location context products with Smartvel’s comprehensive destination content solutions,” said Alexis Batle, CEO of Avuxi. “This union will enhance our offerings and propel innovation within the travel sector, unlocking significant opportunities for growth and success.”
Amadeus invested in Avuxi through its venture fund in late 2017.
