Bucknell senior guard Jack Forrest was named the 2023-24 Patriot League Men’s Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year and made the Academic All-Patriot League Team when the League office presented the awards on Wednesday.
Forrest, an economics major with a 3.48 overall GPA, was named to the All-Patriot League First Team on Monday after averaging 16.0 points per game. The Lower Merion, Pennsylvania native is the tenth different Bison to win men’s basketball scholar-athlete of the year.
Lehigh senior forward Dominic Parolin (mathematics, 3.71 GPA) is a two-time Academic All-Patriot League Team selection, while Forrest, American senior forward Matt Rogers (business administration, 3.26 GPA), Boston University senior guard Miles Brewster (international relations, film & TV, 3.46 GPA), Colgate fifth-year forward Ryan Moffatt (economics & educational studies, 3.36 GPA), and Navy sophomore guard Austin Benigni (computer science, 3.42 GPA) all made the academi

*Forrest earned First Team All-Patriot League honors after finishing fourth among the League leaders in scoring (16.0 ppg) and first in minutes played (36.0 mpg). He also finished second in 3-point field goals made per game (2.6).

2023-24 Academic All-Patriot League Team*
All six Academic All-Patriot League honorees were named to one of three All-Patriot League teams on Monday. Forrest and American’s Rogers received first-team recognition. The second team included Boston University’s Brewster, Colgate’s Moffatt, and Navy’s Benigni, while Lehigh’s Parolin was named third team.
Benigni (16.6 ppg, 3.8 apg), a three-time Patriot League Player of the Week, made Academic All-League in his debut season. He was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll following his freshman season and obtained academic distinctions from the United States Naval Academy in two of his three semesters.
Brewster (10.9 points per game, 3.8 rebounds per game, and 3.2 assists per game) has been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll thrice and to the NABC Honors Court in 2023. He received Boston University’s Scarlet Key Award, one of the school’s most prestigious academic accolades. Brewster also served on BU’s SAAC and facilitated the team’s integration with Team IMPACT, a non-profit organization that connects children with significant illnesses and disabilities with college sports teams.
Moffatt (10.8 ppg, 4.4 rpg) has two All-Patriot League honors and two Academic Honor Roll selections. The fifth-year forward double majors in economics and educational studies while also representing the men’s basketball team on the Student-Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC).
Parolin (11.8 ppg, 6.2 rpg) is a three-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll pick, a five-time Dean’s List member, and was named Collegiate Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District in 2023.
Rogers, a two-time All-Patriot League and League Academic Honor Roll selection, ranked third in League scoring (16.4 ppg) and seventh in rebounding (6.2 rpg).
To be considered for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and be a starter or important participant in their sport. Freshmen and students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the award.
The Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year winner for each sport is among the nominees for the Patriot League Male and Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors, which are given out in the summer. One guy and one female are chosen for the honors.
