The battle between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury for the undisputed world heavyweight title has been postponed to May 18 in Saudi Arabia.
Queensberry Promotions made the statement on X, previously Twitter, on Saturday, a day after the fight was postponed due to Fury suffering a nasty gash above his right eye during sparring in Riyadh.
“The Undisputed Heavyweight Championship Fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk has been rescheduled to May 18th in Riyadh,” Queensberry said in a statement.
The fight was scheduled in two weeks. It is the second time the battle has been postponed, following a cancellation in December of last year.
Usyk, from Ukraine, is the WBA, IBF, and WBO champion. Fury of Britain holds the WBC belt.
The winner will become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 2000.
