Authorities reported that a pastor in North Carolina tried to force his wife’s coworker’s head into a McDonald’s deep fryer after the worker allegedly “disrespected” their marriage.
After being taken into custody, Dwayen Waden, 57, of High Point, was accused with assault and battery.
The pastor’s wife apparently complained to her husband about being treated disrespectfully by staff members while she was a manager-in-training at a High Point McDonald’s.
Waden went to the fast-food restaurant after that, according to the police, and strolled around the counter, Fox News said. The news outlet claims that after putting his hands around the victim’s neck, he tried to force the victim’s head toward one of the restaurant’s deep fryers.
Waden also allegedly punched the victim multiple times in the face, according to a police report, before other staff members were able to remove him.
The man “suffered a large contusion to the forehead and right eye, along with scratches on his neck,” according to the report, which CBS News carried.
Police watched surveillance footage of the incident before arresting Waden, according to Fox News.
The McDonald’s local franchise confirmed to CBS News that the pastor’s wife was no longer with the organization.
“The safety and security of our employees and customers is our top priority,” a spokesperson confirmed to the news organization.
Waden posted bail of $1,000, online records show. He is expected to appear in court on Jan. 22.
