Pelumi Nubi, a Nigerian travel content creator, is traveling solo from London, UK to Lagos.
Nubi announced to her 40,000 Instagram followers that she will begin a two-month solo adventure in a car on Tuesday.
The Nigerian blogger located in the United Kingdom further revealed that before embarking on the journey, she spoke with people who had “tackled similar adventures”.
Nubi stated that “no black woman has made this journey before”. She also stated her excitement about embarking on the journey, regardless of the outcome.
“London to Lagos solo road trip 🚗 🌍✨. Hey, everyone! I’ve got a crazy idea that I’m actually turning into reality – I’m driving solo from London to Lagos Starting 30th January 2024,” she wrote.
“For months, I’ve been chatting with folks who’ve tackled similar adventures. As far as I know, no black woman has made this journey before. But hey, this isn’t about breaking records. It’s about showing the world that “impossible” is just a word, especially when you’ve got enough grit and determination. I can’t fully describe my emotions right now but I am just so excited to finally put it out there -no matter the outcome!”
Nubi is taking the trip in a Peugeot 107. The truck has been customized with amenities that will allow for sleeping and dining.
The Nigerian lady will go through 17 nations, beginning in England and continuing to France, Spain, and Morocco.
Nubi will next go through the Western Sahara Desert, Mauritania, Senegal, and Gambia. She would also go through Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, and Benin before arriving in Lagos.
The development came nearly two years after Kunle Adeyanju, the Nigerian tourist, rode his bike from London to Lagos.
