The world is now faced with the ever-tumultuous leadership of Elon Musk as the head of Twitter, with the news swirling with damaging language from some influential people.

With the world’s richest man now at the helm of the social media company, the use of the N-word has risen to prominence.

According to CNN, Musk has finally completed his $44 billion purchase of Twitter. Despite several periods of uncertainty, the sale was confirmed in a securities filing on Friday, making him the owner of one of the most influential social platforms ever.

With Musk’s takeover complete, several of Twitter’s top executives, including former CEO Parag Agrawal and former CFO Ned Segal, were forced to resign.

Musk, who describes himself as a “free speech abolitionist,” is bringing his viewpoint to all Twitter users. Allowing people to express themselves as freely as they wish also leads to an increase in hate speech on the platform.

According to Business Insider, the Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI), a research group that analyzes social media content to predict emerging threats, stated that the use of the N-word on Twitter increased by an estimated 500% almost immediately after Musk’s acquisition was finalized.

Since then, vile and derogatory tweets have been sent by people who appear to have patiently waited to use their prejudiced-filled Twitter to spew hate.

“Elon now has control of Twitter.” Let loose with the racial slurs. According to NCRI research, one Twitter account used slurs for Jewish and Black people, “K—S AND N—-S.”
