Michael B. Jordan, Jonathan Majors Give Angela Bassett a Shout-Out After Oscars Loss

Angela Bassett was honored by Michael B. Jordan and Jonathan Majors at the 95th Academy Awards on Sunday.

Bassett was the overwhelming frontrunner to win Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. In one of the night’s biggest surprises, Jamie Lee Curtis won the award for her portrayal in Everything, Everywhere, All at Once.

Yet, when it came time to give the award for Best Cinematography, the Creed III co-stars made sure to pay their respects in a low-key manner.

Before diving into their prepared material, Jordan nodded toward Bassett in the audience and gently shared, “Hello, Auntie,” the line his character, Erik Killmonger, famously uttered to Bassett’s Queen Ramonda in the first Black Panther film.

“We love you,” Majors added, with a supportive smile, before they got to the planned presentation.

It didn’t go unnoticed by fans, who shared their love for the sweet shout-out.
