Meghan Markle’s Sparkle Earned an Unknown Earring Brand $1.2 Million in Investment

The “Meghan Sparkle” phenomenon appears to have spread beyond the cinematic environment. It appeared to have played a critical influence in the growth of a fledgling ethical jewelry brand. Kimai co-founders Sidney Neuhaus and Jessica Warch claimed on BBC’s Dragon’s Den that Markle was instrumental in the brand’s development.

Warch revealed that they started their business with minimal money, but thanks to the Duchess of Sussex, their brand grew after she identified herself with their earrings.

Markle wore Kimai earrings four years ago, which helped the ethical jewelry brand expand. The company received a $1.2 million investment after experiencing a big boost in revenue due to the exposure.

“How did you get Meghan Markle to wear your jewelry?” Investor Steven Bartlett questioned the co-founders.

Warch indicated that the magic resided in cold emails sent to every name they could think of. Warch attributed their success in attracting investors and the Duchess of Sussex to using this approach, as reported by People.

The Belgian couple, founders of a brand employing lab-grown diamonds and recycled gold, acquired a collaboration with an impressed investor, Bartlett, who praised their aggressive approach in contacting Meghan Markle.

Markle donned Smart Works’ 18-karat gold Felicity earrings during a visit to the London hub in January 2019, bringing the brand global exposure. The brand’s co-founder shared that Markle’s staff called them after receiving the earrings, expressing genuine appreciation for the pieces.

The royal family’s official website does not specify precise guidelines for taking presents, but according to Prince Harry’s memoir “Spare,” Markle shared the goodies she got, including as clothes, perfumes, and makeup, with the women in their workplace.

This act of charity demonstrates Markle’s friendliness in the workplace following their marriage in 2018. The memoir does not shy away from describing the tensions among royal staff members at the time. In 2019, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle officially divided their royal households from Prince William and Kate Middleton, creating two separate offices at Kensington Palace.

In the following year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle gave up their royal duties and relocated to Markle’s home state of California with their son, Prince Archie, who is now four.

Their daughter, Princess Lilibet, was born in the United States in 2021.
