Sean Atitsogbe has aptly earned the nickname “Sean The Science Kid.” Sean Atitsogbe, a 6-year-old from Lilburn, Georgia, established his YouTube channel, Learning With Sean The Science Kid, in 2020 with the support of his mother, Eunice Atitsogbe. Since then, he has posted videos presenting daily science occurrences with genuine wonder.
Atitsogbe, at 10 years old, has around 780,000 Facebook and Instagram followers. In April 2024, he created a viral Instagram video extolling the importance of breakfast, which has received over a million views.
The young genius said on Good Morning America that he had an early interest in science as a curious infant, stating that “science is like 99% curiosity.” He also expressed his appreciation for how science “explains the universe.”
His mother, Eunice, informed the outlet that her son is self-taught. She explained, “The things he knows, none of us taught him — either me or Daddy. Nobody sits him down to teach him anything. He teaches himself a lot. So, as parents, we just give him the environment for him to do that.”
“Our intention wasn’t to go viral and go all over the place,” she said, expressing how amazed she was at her son’s sudden fame.
She did, however, urge other parents whose kids had a gift for science or another talent to set good expectations for them.
She advised, “My message to other parents is that we paid attention to our kids because they start demonstrating these gifts at a very young age. So, pay attention to them. As soon as you identify that this child of mine likes this, you as a parent do whatever you can to support the child, to bring that nature and gifts that child has.”
Atitsogbe wants to be a brain and heart surgeon when he grows up and has been accepted as a member of the American Mensa Society.
