Meet Prince Jackson, The First Child of the Late Pop Star Michael Jackson

Michael Joseph Jackson Jr., also known as Prince, is Michael Jackson’s first child. Debbie Rowe, Jackson’s ex-wife, is his biological mother. After Rowe and Jackson split in 1999, Rowe turned up custody of Prince and his sister, Paris Michael Katherine.

Early Life

Michael Joseph Jackson Jr. was born in Los Angeles on February 13, 1997. He is the first child of late pop artist Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe, and is known as Prince. Rowe turned over custody of Prince and his sister, Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, following their divorce in 1999. Prince Michael “Bigi” Jackson, Prince and Paris’s youngest sibling, was born to an anonymous surrogate.

Although Rowe is certain to be Prince’s real mother, the identity of his biological father is unknown. Despite popular interest, Prince doesn’t understand why the subject is a problem. “Every time someone asks me that, I think to myself, ‘What’s the point?'” ‘Does it really make a difference?’ Specifically to someone who is not a part of my life. What impact does this have on your life? “It makes no difference to me,” he told Rolling Stone in 2017.

Father’s Death and Wrongful Death Lawsuit

Prince’s pop star father, Prince, died of a heart attack on June 25, 2009, at the age of 50, at his home in Los Angeles. At the time of Michael’s death, Prince was 12 years old. Katherine Jackson, Prince’s grandmother, was appointed as his legal guardian.

An official coroner’s report on Michael’s death was released in February 2010, stating that the singer died from severe propofol intoxication. Michael had used this medicine and others to help him sleep at night, with the assistance of his personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray. Murray’s actions while caring for Michael Jackson were questioned further after a police inquiry discovered that he was not allowed to dispense most restricted medicines in California. Murray was found guilty of homicide in Michael’s death on November 7, 2011, and received a four-year jail sentence.

The Jackson family chose to sue A.E.G. Live, the entertainment firm that advertised Michael’s planned comeback series, This Is It, in 2009, believing that the corporation had failed to adequately protect the singer while he was in Murray’s care. Katherine and Prince, Paris, and Bigi officially filed a wrongful death complaint against A.E.G. The trial started in April 2013. On behalf of the family, lawyers sought up to $1.5 billion, an estimate of what Michael may have earned in the months after his death if he had been alive.

A jury ruled in October 2013 that A.E.G. was not responsible for Michael’s death. “Although Michael Jackson’s death was a terrible tragedy, it was not of A.E.G. Live’s making,” A.E.G.’s lawyer Marvin S. Putnam said.

Foray into Entertainment

Prince, like his siblings, remained out of the public eye for the majority of his upbringing. He made a few public appearances, including at the 2010 Grammy Awards, where he accepted a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award for their father.

However, Prince made his debut appearance as a media figure in 2013. He was a guest contributor for Entertainment Tonight and has shown a desire to become more involved in the entertainment industry, saying, “I’m looking to become well-rounded as a producer, director, screenwriter, and actor.”

In June 2023, he posted a selfie on Instagram from an apparent production meeting for the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic. “@gkfilms got me Workin Day N Night,” Prince captioned the photo, referring to the production company working on the film. Although the co-executors of the late pop star’s estate are involved in the movie, specifics about Prince’s contributions haven’t been released.

Prince has also said that “music is a big part of my life.” “It shaped who I am because of my family, but I’ve always wanted to go into production. My dad would ask me what I wanted to do, and my answer was always producing and directing,” he told The Los Angeles Times in 2016.

He also had a YouTube channel where he posted motorbike riding videos for a while, but it has been idle since May 2021.

Education

In May 2015, Prince graduated from the elite Buckley School in Sherman Oaks, California. He graduated with honors from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles four years later.
