Manchester United Will Pay Harry Maguire £10M to Leave the Club This Summer

Harry Maguire is expected to be paid £10 million to leave Manchester United ahead of a transfer to West Ham.

The Red Devils have agreed to a £30 million transfer fee with the east London club, while personal details are currently being negotiated between Maguire and the Hammers.

According to The Sun, Maguire’s earnings would drop from £190,000 to £120,000 per week when he officially joins West Ham, although the defender has received a £6 million pay-off from Manchester United.

West Ham manager David Moyes is reportedly planning to hand the England star the captain’s armband following Declan Rice’s departure earlier this summer.

According to the report, the England international realized his time at the club was up when the captain’s armband was taken away from him and handed to Bruno Fernandes.

Everton and Newcastle United have also been linked with the former Sheffield United youngster this summer, but West Ham appear to be closing in on a deal.

Maguire did not play in Manchester United’s pre-season match against Lens on Saturday at Old Trafford, which featured perhaps Erik ten Hag’s strongest XI.

On Sunday, the defender instead played for the reserve team against Athletic Bilbao, and he was booed by sections of the Dublin crowd.

The centre-back is expected to be signed in time to make his West Ham debut against Bournemouth on Saturday, or against Chelsea on August 20.
