Israeli Army Launches Air Attacks On Gaza

The Israeli military has conducted air attacks on Gaza in response to a barrage of over 2,000 rockets fired from the Gaza Strip, which killed at least 22 Israelis and injured hundreds more.

“Dozens of IDF fighter jets are currently striking a number of targets belonging to the Hamas terrorist organisation in the Gaza Strip,” the Israeli military said.

Hundreds of residents fled their homes in eastern Gaza to move away from the border with Israel.

Men, women, and children were observed fleeing with blankets and food, especially in the territory’s northeastern corner.

The current escalation comes amid escalating bloodshed between Israel and Palestinian fighters in the West Bank, which Israel unlawfully occupies, and the blockaded Gaza Strip.

It also comes at a moment of political instability in Israel, which has been torn apart by deep disagreements over plans to reform the court, and as Washington works to reach an agreement that would normalize relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia.
