“I’m A Warrior,” Says Nick Cannon Amid Battle With Lupus

Nick Cannon, the American television host, has revealed the medical therapy he is receiving for his Lupus diagnosis.

Lupus is an inflammatory disease produced by the immune system attacking tissues instead of harmful germs and viruses. It is incurable.

Cannon posted a photo to his Instagram account showing him having blood work done.

In the statement, the movie star defined himself as a “lupus warrior” and stated that “health is the real wealth.”

“Constant reminder that health is the real wealth!!! #lupuswarrior,” he wrote.

Cannon acknowledged his fight with lupus in 2012. Since then, he has documented his journey on social media.

In 2022, Cannon will commemorate ten years since his lupus diagnosis.

He explained that the diagnosis forced him to “change everything about the way I live my life.”

“Ten years ago, I experienced a sudden and mysterious illness that almost took my life; at the time i had no idea it was lupus,” he said in part.

“I always have to have a camera on … so I would literally open up my phone, grab my camera and I would talk to the camera, and I documented the entire health journey.

“I have been diagnosed with lupus, and after a decade of close calls, blood transfusions, chemotherapy and hospitalizations, I continue to push through. Throughout this journey, I had to change everything about the way I live my life, and it wasn’t easy.”
