It’s not the typical way individuals try to get a lady’s attention. However, a Colombian man planned an elaborate armed heist to propose to his fiancée. A viral Instagram video depicted a red automobile being blocked at an intersection by a pedestrian and a motorcycle.
Then two people approached the car, telling the two occupants—a man and a woman—to depart. According to the New York Post, the situation escalated when two males on another motorcycle joined the “carjacking” attempt.
The assailants forced the scared couple out of their car. One of the males looked to have a small hidden firearm. The situation worsened when two members of the group forced the male motorist to kneel in the middle of the street.
In an unexpected change of events, the men quickly ceased their aggressive actions, and the kneeling individual drew out an engagement ring, saying that the entire “robbery” was an elaborate setup for a marriage proposal.
The accomplices rejoiced with shouts and cheers, proud of their daring wedding deception. Initially enraged, the woman smacked her fiancé before bursting into tears of pleasure at the unexpected and emotional outcome.
The joker succeeded to capture her heart with an unexpected and audacious marriage proposal. The woman accepted the proposal, and the two subsequently embraced. The daring and unconventional approach drew plaudits on social media, with one fan calling it “the best proposal.”
“You have to love someone wholeheartedly to be with them in health and sickness, in kidnappings or robberies,” one person said.
Some were also unimpressed with the staged armed robbery concept, with one critic calling it a “incitement to violence”.
“How sad it is to have violence and insecurity so normalized,” one Instagram user remarked.
“I say no to him!!!” exclaimed another. “Imagine the other proposals. “Love, you want to go on vacation and stage a kidnapping.”
This isn’t the first time someone has chosen to propose under the cover of stealing. In 2019, a bozo was brutally ripped after conducting an armed robbery at a convenience store in Erie County, NY, to propose to their significant other.
