Chris Rock went shopping at Prada on Wednesday after speaking out about the notorious Oscars smack he received from Will Smith last year.
The comedian, 58, was seen lugging a large white shopping bag along the street as he exited the premium boutique in Manhattan’s Soho neighborhood.
The father-of-two wore a black padded jacket, a matching baseball cap, clear glasses, cargo pants, and green sneakers for his expedition, dailymail reported.

He also wore wireless headphones around his neck as he prepared to return home.
According to a source, Smith is ’embarrassed and upset’ by Rock’s choice to build a new Netflix series on their memorable fight at the 94th Academy Awards.
In 2022, the pair made ceremonial history by marching onstage and slapping Rock across the face for making a joke about wife Jada Pinkett-Smith’s baldness.
Will Smith is ‘Embarrassed and Hurt’ by Chris Rock’s Netflix Special and Wants Him to ‘Let It Go’
Smith, 54, has now been barred from attending the awards ceremony for a decade, while Rock, who was presenting at the time, has used the incident as fodder for his new stand-up act, Chris Rock: Selective Outrage.
Rock premiered a series of harsh rebukes intended at the married pair at the Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore, ironically the city of Pinkett-birth, Smith’s including a comic monologue inspired by her extramarital affair with musician August Alsina.
According to Entertainment Tonight, Smith has been greatly moved by the Netflix special and is eager for Rock to ‘let it go.’
While Selective Outrage has apparently upset and embarrassed Smith, the outlet claims Smith has yet to watch it and has instead been informed of its substance by those who have.
During the show’s climax, Rock accused the Oscar winner of ‘selective outrage,’ and he poured salt to the wound by reliving Pinkett-well-documented Smith’s infidelity.
‘Chris never got a one-on-one private apology from Will, only the public one which really meant nothing,’ a source close to the comedian insisted. In fact, Will has only addressed the situation twice – once on Instagram the day after the Oscars and once in a video apology.
But the insider insisted that Rock’s decision to rehash the scandal in his Netflix show had nothing to do with seeking revenge, but was rather a way for the comedian to ‘get it all out’ and ‘be done with it.’

‘Chris wanted to get this out once and for all and be done with it. This was very cathartic to him,’ the source added.
When it came to bringing up the slapgate issue on stage, the comic didn’t hold back.
Instead, he escalated his criticism of the A-list marriage by bringing up Pinkett-admitted Smith’s romance with Jaden’s close friend, musician August Alsini, in 2020.

Rock told a stunned live and on-location audience that Smith had misdirected his rage because ‘his wife was f***ing her son’s buddy.’
To make matters worse, his embarrassing retaliation broadcast exactly one week before the 2023 Oscars, which are planned to take place on March 12 – an event that Smith has been barred from attending for the next ten years due to his violent outburst at last year’s ceremony.
The notorious slap happened in March 2022, when Rock was on stage to present an Oscar for outstanding documentary feature.
Turning to the Smith’s, he said that he was ‘looking forward’ to seeing Pinkett-Smith in G.I. Jane, poking fun at her shaved head.
Smith immediately got up on stage and slapped Chris in the side of his head. After returning to his front row seat, he yelled, ‘Keep my wife’s mother f***ing name out your mouth.’
Will Smith Reportedly Tried Unsuccessfully to Make Amends with Chris Rock Following Oscars Slap
During his Rock’s standup special, Rock shared his afterthoughts, telling the audience: ‘Anybody that say words hurt has never been punched in the face. But I’m not a victim, baby. You’ll never see me on Oprah or Gayle crying.
‘Everybody called him a b**ch, and who’s he hitting? Me. You all know what happened to me, getting smacked by Suge Smith,’ he joked. ‘It still hurts. I got “Summertime” ringing in my ears.’
Rock then addressed why he didn’t hit Will back, saying: ‘You know what my parents taught me? Don’t fight in front of white people.’
