Taylor Herron, a Black teenager from Mississippi who studies painting, has been admitted to 38 institutions, including numerous prestigious art colleges around the nation, and has earned approximately $3 million in scholarship offers.
After finishing her Visual Arts curriculum in the 11th and 12th grades, Taylor, who previously attended Germantown High School, is about to receive her diploma from the Mississippi School of the Arts.
Taylor was well-known for being a top student at the school. She won titles such as Miss MSA, Floor Rep for the Student Government Association, Vice President of the Diversity Club, Prom Court, and Hall of Fame.
Moreover, Taylor was recognized with numerous state, regional, and national awards for her art. She also had her artwork hung in the United States Capitol.
MSA said Taylor has received offers from many art colleges in the country and she chose to attend Otis College of Art & Design in Los Angeles, according to WAPT.
