Sadio Mane reportedly received a hefty punishment from Bayern Munich as the German club is eager to offload him this summer after he hit teammate Leroy Sane during a heated argument last week.
After the German team’s 3-0 loss to Manchester City on Tuesday, April 11, the two got into a furious argument, and Mane attacked Sane in the locker room, prompting other players to intervene.
Sane sustained a lip bruise as a result of the incident, and Mane was pulled off the team for Bayern’s Bundesliga match against Hoffenheim on Saturday and fined a portion of his £17 million annual salary.
The size of the punishment has now been revealed, with Bayern handing out the highest fine in their history.
‘According to our information, it is an amount that goes far beyond €300,000 (£260,000), so it’s a very, very sensitive fine for Mane,’ Bayern expert Florian Plettenberg told Sky Germany.
